Field of Honor Memorial

Published: Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Hospice of the Valleys is a sponsor for the Murrieta Rotary Club's
"Field of Honor Memorial" this week and does so to honor their Medical

Director, Dr. Laurence H. Boggeln, a retired Navy Captain in the
Medical Corps from 1976 to 2006.

Additionally, Hospice of the Valleys is creating its own "Field of Honor". Several of our staff members have family members currently serving in the military and we will honor them through the creation of a plaque listing their name and rank. This will be displayed in our office, so that these courageous men and women will be remembered by all of us on a daily basis.

Advocating for Clinical Excellence - ACE Project: Approval Letter

Category: Press Releases  |  Permalink

Published: Tuesday, September 08, 2009

Dear Terry Azkoul:

Congratulations! After a thorough review of over one hundred and twenty applications, Lynn Euzenas has been accepted to attend Course 4 of the ACE Project October 13-16, 2009 in Pasadena, CA and the October 2010 Reunion Conference. Lynn demonstrated in her application strengths in the following areas: interest in attending ACE, enthusiasm, level of commitment to the ACE Project and its advocacy principles, quality of the written goals, education, leadership and team experience, as well as past involvement in end-of-life care. Another vital and very telling portion of the application was your letter of support. Thank you for taking the time to introduce us to Lynn's strengths and skills. Your words made a difference.

We are thrilled with the level of passion and dedication our selected participants have already demonstrated and we eagerly look forward to the informative, interactive, and transformative experience we expect ACE to be. We hope you are equally as thrilled to have such a dedicated and passionate clinician on your staff and will continue to support their collaborative efforts to improve palliative, end-of-life and bereavement care in your institution and most importantly on behalf of the patients you serve.

sincerely,

Shirley Otis-Green, MSW, LCSW, ACSW, OSW-C
Senior Research Specialist, ACE Principal Investigator

Licet Garcia
Interim ACE Coordinator
