Honor Your Loved One

In spring, 2009, Hospice of the Valleys (HOV) launched a fundraising opportunity called "Honor Your Mother" in commemoration of Mother's Day and Earth Day. Participants purchased rose bushes or trees in honor of their loved ones as a living legacy. HOV partnered with Oak Grove Center for Education Treatment and the Arts in Murrieta, as they were undergoing renovations and were in need of new landscaping.

On September 19, 2009, 27 rose bushes were 7 trees were planted at Oak Grove by volunteers from the United Way Day of Caring. The trees were planted to provide shade for the visitors parking area and a rose garden has been started at the front of the grounds. There is room for the rose garden to grow.
