Employee of the Month - December 2010Category: Employee of the Month | Permalink Published: Thursday, December 16, 2010 Congratulations to Cheryl Cotton on being chosen as Hospice of the Valleys Employee of the Month for December, 2010. Her dedication to the company and the extraordinary care she gives to patients and families is so admirable. This year, she has taken on added responsibility in leading the Hospice Aide Team and she has done a wonderful job. She schedules, reschedules, informs, reminds, ensures compliance, and coordinates all the operations aspects of her team to ensure everything is functioning at a high level. As a result, we have the most productive, caring and dedicated Hospice Aide team that any of us have ever worked with or known. She freely offers to share her beautiful voice to sing to us and our volunteers whenever she can and we all love it. Her honesty and relaxed demeanor are so refreshing and make it fun to be around her. She has accomplished the difficult task of being able to express her sense of great respect and concern for matters of life and death, yet she is able to keep a healthy, professional distance and does not take things too seriously, knowing that all things change and eventually end. And she does this in a way that makes it look easy, even though we know first hand how hard it is. She consistently freely shares her concerns and offers solutions to problems or issues she sees, which has been so helpful as the company has grown and become more efficient. She is a valuable member of our team and we really appreciate her. We are grateful for the example she has set for all of us to do her best, work hard and always offer hope, love and compassion. For all her wonderful qualities, we honor and thank Cheryl.
