Per Diem Triage RN

Position Summary

The role of the RN triages after hours telephone calls from patients, family members, caregivers and community members to assess concerns, instruct in patient care, provide advice and support and identify needs for skilled nursing, spiritual, or psychosocial visits.

Qualifications

• Current RN license within the State.  BSN preferred.  Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing desired.
• One year of hospice nursing experience within the last 3 years.
• Demonstrated competency in performance of professional nursing functions.
• Requires excellent communication skills.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to work with dying patients and their families.  Possesses a sympathetic attitude toward caring for the hospice patient and demonstrates positive communication skills in interacting with other members of the hospice team.
• Valid California driver's license and auto insurance.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning patient and family information.
• Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Compensation Commensurate with experience.
